Give Back: Each skateboard is made from recycled plastic fishing nets, salvaged from Chilean fishing communities and prevents more than 30 square feet of harmful plastic fishnets from entering our oceans.
Discarded fishing nets account for 10% of the plastic pollution in the ocean. Bureo’s recycling program in Chile provides fishing net collection points that enable responsible disposal. Financial support is provided to local labor and participating communities, who are incentivized to keep plastic fishing nets out of our oceans. To date, their programs has recycled over 80,000KG of discarded materials.
